POWER MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (PMI) DELIVERS INTERNATIONAL TRAINING

PMI Noida, which is an established name for power sector training in India, delivered 3-day training programme on "Electrical Maintenance Testing Inspection and Risk Assessment" during 04- 06 October 2009 for executives of Dubai Electricity and water Authority (DEWA) at DEWA headquarters, Dubai. 22 middle level executives attended the programme. Shri Vivek Jha, DGM (PMI) and Shri Manoj Barsaiyan, Sr Faculty Member (PMI) delivered lectures during the programme.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME OF EXECUTIVE TRAINEES of NTPC –28/07/2009

NTPC Ltd held the Induction Programme of Executive Trainee – 2009 (Campus Batch) & Valedictory Programme of Executive Trainee 2006 & 2007 Batch, at Yugantar Hall, BadarpurThermal Power Station on 28/07/2009.

The entire leadership of the Indian Power Sector comprising Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Honourable Minister of Power, Sh Bharatsinh Solanki, Honourable Minister of State for Power, Shri Harishankar Brahma, Honourable Secretary Power as also key leaders of NTPC, Sh R S Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC and Sh R C Shrivastav, Director(HR), NTPC welcomed the young Engineers to the Power Sector and NTPC. Honourable Minister of Power, Sh Shinde presented Gold and Silver Medals and certificates to meritorious trainees of the 2006 & 2007 batch.

The batch consists of 438 Engineers from the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology. There are 389 males and 49 females. The batch is diverse in all respects and represents a Mini India in terms of its variety.

Honourable Union Minister of Power, Sh Sushil Kumar Shinde, in his speech to the youngsters emphasised what the country expected from them, in the light of the need to provide power to every household by 2012.

Honourable Union Minister of State for Power, Sh Bharatsinh Solanki, urged the youngsters to use their intellect, talent and energy to make India an economic superpower.

Honourable Secretary Power, Sh Harishankar Brahma, emphasised the need to think beyond national boundaries and to constantly use global yardsticks and standards when measuring performance.

CMD, NTPC, Sh R S Sharma, highlighted the key facets of NTPC’s Identity and the future challenges the company faced. Sh Sharma also emphasised the vast career opportunities available within the company and the need for the younger generation to carry the company forward into the future.

Director(HR), NTPC, Sh R C Shrivastav welcomed the distinguished guests and presented the details of the batch.
New Courses for NTPC adopted ITIs :

Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Union Minister of Power launched new Courses in 12 NTPC adopted and New Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at various locations in the vicinity of NTPC power stations through video conferencing mode in a function held in New Delhi on 20.08.2009. Shri Bharatsinh Solanki , Union Minister of State for Power graced the occasion. Shri Rakesh Nath, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority ; Shri R.S.Sharma, CMD, NTPC; Shri Anil Kumar Additional Secretary, Shri I.C.P. Keshari JS (Thermal), Shri R.C. Shrivastav, Director (HR), NTPC ,senior officials  from NTPC and Ministry of Power were present.


MPPGCL Training
PMI has conducted induction training programme for Executive Trainees from M. P. Power Generating Company Ltd. for 3 weeks from 25.05.09 to 12.06.09.
e-Training at NTPC
e-Training has been rolled out for all the employees of NTPC and is now available in ERP-ESS under tab “Internal Training” from 04.05.2009. Employees can request for nomination in any training programme of PMI. The nomination request will follow the workflow and a mail will be sent to employee at all levels of workflow on Approval/Rejection of the request.

The procedure to submit the request and other details about the module can be known from the user guide available in Help Tab on Internal Training.
O&M Conference
The conference was held at PMI on 14th and 15th February and was attended by approximately 400 delegates including executives and experts in the said field from various countries.
Nuclear Power Generation
A training programme was held at PMI from 02/02/09 to 04/02/09 for familiarization of NTPC executives in the area of Nuclear Power Generation. Participants have also visited Narora Atomic Power Plant to get an overview of Nuclear Power Generation technology.


National Workshop on Ash Utilization
